Over 3,800,000 orphans in South Africa face the reality of an early death due to malnutrition, Tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS*. In response to the overwhelming needs and challenges facing these children, Focus on the Family US has provided a grant to Children's HopeChest and Focus on the Family Africa to begin an orphan care initiative in Durban, South Africa. Through this new collaboration, hundreds of children will receive daily meals, spiritual discipleship, and basic first aid.
By utilizing a community-to-community partnership model, US churches, social networks and businesses have the opportunity to connect directly with orphan communities in South Africa that need immediate help.
